The mission of the Economic Development Working Committee is to support the economic growth and success of individuals and Jewish-owned businesses within the Sub-Saharan African Jewish community. Our goal is to establish an environment that fosters entrepreneurship, promotes job growth, and enables sustainable economic development.

The main areas of focus are:

1. Supporting Entrepreneurship:
Our organization would provide access to a range of resources, mentorship programs, and networking opportunities to empower aspiring entrepreneurs in transforming their innovative ideas into thriving businesses. By fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, we are able to contribute to the success of individuals as well as the overall economic growth of the community. Additionally, we plan to explore various avenues to possibly secure investments and funding for promising projects within our communities . By attracting financial support, we can make impactful initiatives a reality, benefiting the growth of the entire Jewish community in Sub-Saharan Africa.

2. Business Networking:
Our committee is dedicated to fostering connections and collaborations among businesses and professionals in the SAJA community. We foster collaboration and partnerships that drive economic synergy through networking events, workshops, and forums. We recognize the significance of marketing and sales advertising, and we utilize our Facebook page and the entire WHATSAPP SAJA Online Community as effective platforms to connect with a large Jewish audience for Jewish merchants who are looking to sell or recommend a service.

3. Skills Development:
Our organization provides a range of workshops and training programs designed to enhance the professional capabilities of individuals through skill-building. Developing these skills not only empowers individuals in their careers but also contributes to the overall economic advancement of the community. We also take into consideration small-scale production processes, such as wine making, when it comes to adhering to kosher standards. We have learned that individuals who cannot rely solely on imported wine now have the opportunity to learn how to make their own wine from grape vines. There are tons of other micro skills that can be taught, which can be leveraged to get into a profitable financial position.

4. Community Economic Research: Our committee conducts research to identify economic trends, opportunities, and challenges within each different region of Africa. This helps us to inform our strategic initiatives and ensures that our efforts are in line with the current economic landscape. We also collaborate and share data with the rest of the international working committees in the SAJA network. This allows us to quickly compare and determine the level of development achieved across all member countries of the alliance.

Come and join us as we work together to create a vibrant and flourishing community.
